Of course, after I bought this product, it turned out that there is malware that can steal your documents as well as your usernames and passwords. This can leave your entire home network vulnerable to ransomware. Not much has been released about how this malware intrudes or what steps have been taken to fix it, just the usual "updating the firmware". I love having a NAS at home, but I cannot currently recommend this product due to the security of your system. This should be the number 1 priority for everyone. Aside from the security issues, which I hope will be resolved soon, this seems like a great point. This is my first home NAS and I would say only buy a NAS if you have a good understanding of how network protocols work. You can make yourself quite vulnerable if you don't know what you're doing. If it weren't for the security issues I would give this 4 stars for the cost of the device alone. If you have the time, you can set up a NAS for a lot less.
