Review on Bosch TS1016 Outfeed Support Assembly by Joe Glass

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Enough parts for two (different) Bosch table saws.

I have a Bosch Model 4100 Portable Table Saw. This offload add-on kit has parts for THREE models - 4000 and 4100 (which have the same setup) and a Bosch GTS1041A saw. If it finds meat, the Germans gave me extra parts for the GTS1041A saw that I will never use. Of course I can throw them away, but that's incredibly wasteful. See my attached photo for the 'extra' parts you won't need for the 4000 or 4100 saws (the cat doesn't come with the extension kit). There are two additional rail mounts and a 12-gauge support bracket for the GTS1041A. The odd thing is that a branch extender comes with the GTS1041A - for $2200 it should come with the saw so why they sell it as an accessory is classic Germanic logic. The extra parts make initial setup a bit confusing, and reading the instructions will help once you find out you have useless parts in the expansion kit. It's easy enough to install if you put the extra parts aside. The actual extension works fine. I wish the locking knob was a larger diameter and Bosch would have added a ball end hex wrench which is very useful for installing hex/hex head screws. The kit could have been $15 cheaper if the extra anti-tipper and rail mount for the GTS1041A had been removed. High quality German engineering is a contradiction in terms.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not bad
