Type of review

Excellent hardware and exactly what you would expect from German engineers. My only complaint is that the $600 saw/table should have come with it from the factory rather than charging me extra for it. The Bosch 4100 is already insanely expensive and the smaller saws come with kickstands - why doesn't Bosch adapt them? I took off one star because I had to spend another 50 euros for it. Bottom line - humble yourself and spend the money - you won't regret it. Excellent quality output.

Extra parts, extra waste.

The support itself is decent and a good addition; However, the TS1016 comes with 2 stamped steel legs and 4 machined aluminum brackets for mounting on the 4100 or 1041a. Since I only have 4100, 1 support and 2 brackets just get thrown away as waste. This cost is far greater than a few extra screws and it bothered me enough to write this review, especially since I paid for the cost. This explains why it costs so much more than lateral support. Bosch should change the part number, supply separate

Ideal if you're making a change

When I initially set it up, which is non-trivial with fat hands like mine, I was disappointed. The support was about 1/8 inch below the level of the table top. So I missed Pucks. pain in the neck. Then I bought the left side support. It comes with slotted holes in the support to facilitate leveling. Bingo! I realized I just needed to lengthen the holes on the anti-tipper, and voila. Ideal. I like it now. Seems wasteful that they include two complete sets for two different saws. However, I can…

Easy installation with extra parts

I read all the reviews from people who had installation problems and didn't have any of them. Loosely assemble the brackets to the desired locations on the table saw, install the rods to your saw bracket, install the rods into the bracket, rock them back and forth to align the brackets, and tighten the screws that hold the brackets in place the brackets are attached to the saw. After each screw I checked the movement of the guides and didn't bother with anything. I agree that having a full…

Won't attach to 4000 as advertised

Product looks fairly well made BUT: the cap screws provided come out from underneath before tightening, they are too long. I contacted Bosh support, explained exactly what model of saw I have and what the problem is. Bosh support replied "It's a really old saw", my answer is "They advertise that it works with this model". Tech support said they would send extra short mounting screws. Instead, I received a new mounting kit, four (4) long screws, two (2) short screws, and other small items. I…

Could be easier to push and pull

Assembly wasn't too difficult on my Bosch 4000 table saw. See my review of the left exit support for the procedure (it's the same as this one). The two knots don't hit each other when folded, but honestly for the price they should have been bundled with the original saw. This assembly had a tendency to "get stuck" unless you pushed/pull right in the middle. However, I did find the setup stiff after blocking. Some plywood (like thin T-111) tended to catch on the front edge of the superstructure…

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poorly designed solution for an excellent table saw

Installation on the 4100 is unnecessarily complicated. There is barely enough room in the bracket on the right side of the saw to fit screws and then you are given a 5mm wrench to try and tighten those screws. This is not an easy task for a person with normal hands. There is so little room to work that a 5 minute installation task took 20 minutes. Yes, it took 20 minutes to install 4 screws. In addition, all 4 mounting screws were 1mm longer. You actually have to unscrew them to fully install…

Extreme waste and poor manufacturing tolerances

Half of the equipment supplied does not fit the Bosch 4100, creating unnecessary waste, weight and cost to consumers. I can't understand why Bosch did this so I will try not to buy Bosch tools in the future unless there is a better alternative. Luckily there is a scrap metal recycling center near me, but not every consumer finds it or the time to recycle those large unusable parts. As for the product quality, what annoys me is that between the guides and the rods, since the diameter of the…

Enough parts for two (different) Bosch table saws.

I have a Bosch Model 4100 Portable Table Saw. This offload add-on kit has parts for THREE models - 4000 and 4100 (which have the same setup) and a Bosch GTS1041A saw. If it finds meat, the Germans gave me extra parts for the GTS1041A saw that I will never use. Of course I can throw them away, but that's incredibly wasteful. See my attached photo for the 'extra' parts you won't need for the 4000 or 4100 saws (the cat doesn't come with the extension kit). There are two additional rail mounts and…
