Light it up! - Spark Plugs and Wires

I was looking for spark plugs after my last Denso kit broke on my 2002 Lexus IS300 after 5 years. I exchange candles for other candles every 2 years shortly before the smog. I have used NGK Iridium IX BKR6EIX-11, NGK Laser Iridium IFR6T11, Denso Iridium IK16 and now this one. I think they have a little bit more pizzazz at each stage. Of course, my old connectors were almost dead with the iridium tips completely out of the gap marks. This means that ALL the iridium elements are pre-sealed and ready for installation. The IS300 is fairly easy to set up if you have good hands. Based on memory, remove: Air Intake Bolts/Nuts and Retaining Clip to Throttle Body, 3 Lower, 2 Upper and 3 Bolts from TB to Intake Manifold. Remove the spark plug leads and replace the spark plugs one at a time, starting from the front of the engine and working toward the rear. After that, just flip anything and everything. While your TB is outside, clean it with some type of TB cleaner. You can also use brake cleaner, but your car will choke a little in the first 30 seconds. In any case, these connectors are durable Denso connectors. I have given some details on how to change the spark plugs and the process should take 30-60 minutes. With that said, you're spending $2 more per plug over the others I've listed, and you don't have to go through this process every 2 years. I hope this lasts 10 from what I hear from others. By the way, my car is over 220,000 and in good condition. So that should tell you something.

Pros
  • Excellent acceleration and power
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
