Makes the task of hand sewing more difficult
When using these so-called innovative needles, the hook that allows the needles to thread the thread themselves gets caught in the fabric every time. I've used them on cotton, linen and knit fabrics with the same annoying results. Eventually, the hook caught the fabric, twisted, and came loose. I ended up having to use tweezers and a magnifying glass to remove the broken piece of tissue.
