Although it's a bit overkill for my household sockets I thought I'd spend a few bucks more since I've gone to the trouble of replacing some of the old sockets and get some heavy duty sockets . This outlet definitely fits. It is very durable and well made throughout. The terminal screws are strong and clamp the wires securely. If there's a downside (and probably a good one too), it's that the power of the plug-in is quite high. You don't have to worry about your vacuum cleaner's power cord being unplugged from this outlet!
