Despite some bad reviews, take a chance with these pups and there's no need to buy OEM for such a versatile item. The resistance surprised me, I feel soft, it's easy to squeeze with my hands, but I'm not a mechanic. Judging by some YouTube videos this can be done by hand but there is a risk of the old bottom screws binding. In this case you will have to cut the screws, and I don't have such a tool, so just let professionals do it. Honda recommends using new bottom bolts so I ordered a couple from Honda as they don't come with these shocks including the top nuts. Maybe I'll come back to post the longevity status.
