Rather jute gauze than canvas, amirite?

Should have read the reviews. I ALWAYS read reviews. But this time I just clicked "Buy Now" and very much regretted it. It's terrible, all of you. I've been in tears lately using bleached linen placemats to upholster old furniture. Although I've bought from many brands so far, the quality has been about the same everywhere. I mean it's canvas, it shouldn't be too hard to get it right. I think the difference is that this time I was looking for specific sizes and when I saw those numbers I just clicked the trigger without realizing that this product only had 3 stars. My second mistake was not sending it back when I saw how loose the fabric was through the plastic. People. It's an odd brown color and such a loose fabric that if you actually used it to paint, the color would GO THROUGH. It's like a burlap net. But soft? what about linty I DON'T KNOW. Should have sent it back. Instead I washed it, hoping the fabric would tighten in the dryer, and now I'm left with a crumpled, crumpled pile of fluffy beige mesh that I can't even use for its intended purpose, let alone the pretty pleated skirt that is I had in mind. . I mean, I wanted rustic, but that's just cool. Don't buy for projects, don't buy for painting.
