Review on Enhance Safety with Safe-T-Alert 35-742-BR Dual LP/CO Alarm - Flush Mount, Brown by Brandon Burnham

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's actually the right size

I almost didn't buy it because the item description says "Item Dimensions" as 10 x 8 x 2 inches. The one I replaced in my trailer measures 6.25" x 2.75" x 1.75" and is a flush mount. The reason I replaced the carbon monoxide alarm in my trailer was that the old one had failed and the siren went off when the trailer wasn't being used I didn't even realize these alarms would expire When I took my old one out to see what was going on I found a sticker on the back stating it said "replace in 60 months" and mine was dated 12 years ago. This all happened on a Saturday night after the local trailer shop closed so I contacted Revane.MTI's Safe-T-Alert 35-742-BR looked exactly like my old alarm except the advertised dimensions were very different.I decided to purchase anyway thinking I just had to cut a larger hole in the cabinet to install it.When it arrived I was pleasant surprised that it is exactly the same like my old one was. The only thing that makes sense to me is that since this device measures 6.25 x 2.75 inches, the dimensions listed on the Revain should match the size of the box it comes in. When inserting the new one, I wrote the replacement date on the front panel with a felt-tip pen. I could probably make it prettier with a label printer or something, but at least I know when to replace it.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
