Bought these to replace the coils on my daughter's 2008 Volvo S40 T5 due to code P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire). Replaced all spark plugs with NGK iridium plugs and all 5 ignition coils with them. As everyone else has mentioned you will need to take the rubber boots off the old coils and swap them out for the ones that run on them as they are too long. No big deal, it took about 5 minutes to take off all the boots, clean the old ones and put the old boots on the new spools. I collected everything and did a test drive with the scanner connected. The misfires were gone, I could tell by the idle. However, there are now 2 codes awaiting confirmation that indicate no communication between coils 1 and 5 and the ECM, plus another code that is probably related to defective coils. I'm going to reinstall 2 old coils and see if that clears the codes. Save money and buy Bosch!
