Doesn't Last Long: Transmission and transmission

I've been an automotive professional for 40 years. I used this for my 6L90 transmission in my 2013 GMC truck. It was easy to install and fitted the end of the cable snugly. I put a small amount of silicone grease on the tapered end of the jack to make it easier to slide into the cable's eyelet. This jack is not an exact replacement for the factory jack in my application. It fits snugly over the end of the cable and the seating surface of the shifter. However, nothing holds the cable with this bushing to the hand crank lever other than the lateral twisting force of the cable holding it to the hand crank lever. The factory designed bushing has a small ball socket that snaps onto the arm end of the hand shaft. A retaining ring had to be fitted around the ball seat to ensure the end of the cable did not come loose. This temporarily solved my problem for about 2 months before the jack itself crumbled (pictured). I found the remains in the driveway under a non-shifting transmission. The plastic that makes up this bushing doesn't appear to be as durable as the factory bushing material. I personally think this product is a waste of money. I bought a factory cable, took out the sleeve and plugged into the existing cable. I cannot recommend this product.
