Very satisfied, good fit for spares

Easy to install, great tech support when needed. The first one doesn't work and they sent me one for free. Assembly tip to add to their instructions: use a slightly larger socket with a pair of channel locks and press the cable against the transfer arm to ensure a secure fit.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

LASTS A WHOLE WEEK! (FAST)

Worked great for a WHOLE WEEK before it failed and left me stranded in another parking lot. Luckily I still had a DIY repair in the glove box that I made while waiting for the part to ship. It worked for a full month before I had to remove it to put in the 'correct part' which fell out after less than a week of use! Back to my home part. At least it didn't let me down and it didn't cost any money, just 5 minutes of your time.

Pros
  • 1 year test
Cons
  • No power

But we swap the factory cable and sleeve ourselves!

The socket is cheap fragile plastic and in my opinion just a band-aid. You can buy a $50 factory bottom cable and get a grommet that lasts 10-15 years or this $30 grommet that lasts 6/9 months max! They could easily make this part out of a durable material, but they don't care. They want to keep it going for just 0.30 cents and sell it for $25/$40 depending on the kit you order, instead of spending a maximum of a dollar more on better stuff.

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • I have no problems, everything is fine

Lasted two years: Bushings

This worked well for two years and eventually wore out and fell off. I'll make my own copper or nylon bushing that matches the inside diameter of the shifter cable lug and the outside diameter of the lever pin. Home Depot sells a 5/32 zinc plated ferrule that fits perfectly into the connector pin notch after the socket is installed (see repair image). GM shouldn't have made the mounting point out of rubber and plastic. It should have been a standard metal case with a clip or pin.

Pros
  • Useful piece
Cons
  • Empty

Expensive, but so far so good.

Just installed on my '08 Pontiac G6 2.5L with 4 speed automatic transmission. Very expensive for what you get but this seemed like the best solution unless you are replacing the entire cable. It was a little tricky getting it to snap into place without dropping one of the three pieces, but I managed after putting some twilight on it to slide it in. Only time will tell how it holds up, but just in case I kept the water bottle stopper I used as an emergency in the glove box in case it broke. I'll

Easy and flush install

It took 3 minutes to install on my Cadillac Escalade after watching a YouTube video. What makes this case so beautiful is the gray cap. It allows you to push the sleeve back into the original mount. The bushings I bought from auto parts stores will fit, but they don't have the extra parts that come with this kit. I actually saved two install parts in case I run into this problem again. Then I can buy a $10 jack at a dealership and use the mounting hardware! Update: The bushing has already…

Not sure if it will hold up

I ordered this one because it looked easy and simple. The setup tool was kind of functional. I'm mechanical so I figured out how it works. The orange post broke when I tried to tighten it with pliers. The video shows that you need to move the pliers. I did just that and the orange pin broke in the process. The bushing is rubbery and soft, so installing the bushing was easy enough. Although careless. I pushed it onto the shifter on the transmission and it fell off slightly. I squeeze and wiggle…

Worked on 07 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 new body style

Update: The bushing was installed after watching the installation video on YouTube and speaking directly to Bushing Fix and it was confirmed that the bushing installed correctly after being sent became photo to company. The case only lasted 2 days and broke as you can see from the photos provided by others. I sent it back for a full refund and will be ordering a new shifter cable instead. Original Review: Bushing Fix has great customer service and can help you get the right part by talking on…

Doesn't Last Long: Transmission and transmission

I've been an automotive professional for 40 years. I used this for my 6L90 transmission in my 2013 GMC truck. It was easy to install and fitted the end of the cable snugly. I put a small amount of silicone grease on the tapered end of the jack to make it easier to slide into the cable's eyelet. This jack is not an exact replacement for the factory jack in my application. It fits snugly over the end of the cable and the seating surface of the shifter. However, nothing holds the cable with this…
