I contacted Aqara about several accessories that support a standard called "zigbee" and bought this hub to connect with a Zigbee 3.0 compatible GLEDOPTO controller. I also took a Zigbee compatible smart plug. I was very disappointed to learn that despite all my googling to make sure they are compatible, they are not. It's not enough that all devices work with the Zigbee 3.0 standard, instead this Aqara M2 hub only supports Aqara brand accessories, not just any Zigbee devices, even as simple as the Sonoff smart plug (which itself claims "with everything to work"). ). Big words from Sonoff that end up empty. So don't believe the information that this is a good center or ecosystem for beginners. I make software and electronics for a living and am confused by this complete compatibility matrix mess. This ecosystem just isn't ready for a newbie point. While "Zigbee hub" doesn't really mean working with arbitrary (and simple) ZigBee accessories like power outlets, I'm over that.
