First, this stainless wire requires more power than mild steel wire. Blue Demon recommends 130-150 amps. I did this on my Forney 125 FC welder, which is an AC welder with a maximum output of 125 amps and was barely enough to weld a .045" sheet metal. With a small welder, you need to maximize amperage and reduce wire length. Second, Blue Demon recommends installing a DC positive electrode, which is the opposite of the normal installation for a mild steel flux core. Installing a positive electrode puts more heat into the wire than the wire requires. So my AC output splicer only had correct polarity half the time, which partly explains my so-so results lol. If you have a more expensive DC output welder that allows you to reverse polarity, do so. So if I were trying to run this wire regularly I would switch to a 140A polarity reversing DC welder. If you have an AC output welder and/or less than 130A output you will likely be disappointed.
