Works on Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows 10. Use to control multiple telescopes from Astrophysics, Celestron and Synta (Orion and Skywatcher). Windows 10 update 1803 corrupted the serial to USB driver. This is how I fixed it on my MSI gaming laptop. Reboot with item disconnected and then reboot again. After my laptop fully rebooted, I uninstalled the old driver, rebooted again, then plugged the adapter into a USB2 port on my laptop and it worked. Only people like me using this in a USB3 port or a USB3 powered hub plugged into a USB3 port on the machine seem to have problems. These devices don't require the speed or performance of USB3, so don't worry about losing anything by downgrading your ports. For those reading this and needing more information, I'm using an Intel based laptop, an older Intel chip. Kit with USB2 and USB3 built in and an old laptop over 7 years old with an "unspecified" chipset that only has USB2 ports and an adapter will work on each.
