Let me start by saying that no animal should live that long. I put my mice in there while cleaning their aquarium and it worked. It looks like it could break even if you look at it the wrong way, but I think all plastic cages are that brittle. If you have a smart pet like mine, swap out your water bottle for one of their bubble caps. My mice figured out how to get out the water bottle and run away. Even if it was full. I never noticed the bottle was leaking, but I don't think the mice ever used it. The other escape issue I have is the gap between the wire frame and the plastic. A very persistent mouse or robotic hamster could escape through this.
