My son was thrilled to get his Otamatone after watching a few YouTube videos. However, when it arrived it was one disappointment after another. First, no batteries. Then when we put the batteries in it didn't work. We had to fiddle with the batteries and the battery door to find the "gold spot" to make it work. Then the keyboard area didn't respond very well to touch, so it couldn't make the right notes. Then he got too approachable and started playing little sad electronic sobs himself. Maybe we got a bum grade, so I didn't want to completely kill Otamaton in the rankings, but yeah, it's a cute little paperweight.
