We are SO HAPPY with our solar system! I choose this because you can fully program it (along with purchasing a SolarEpic MT-50 remote meter) and will need it if we ever upgrade our battery pack to lithium-ion types. It was a very easy do-it-yourself installation. We currently have 200w portable panels and are building a stand to keep them tilted and facing the sun throughout the day (I go out and adjust the panels several times a day). Our 230Ah battery fills up every day here in sunny Arizona. Installation was very easy. Along with this company's MT-50 remote meter and temperature sensor, these are the additional parts we used. 200W solar panels with MC4 connectors. Fuse Sea Systems Terminal 30A) as our fuse between solar charger and batteries. They say your fuse should be as close to the battery as possible, and you literally CANNOT get any closer to the battery. Very easy to install. 8 AWG 1 Pair Black+Red Solar Panel Extension Wire Wire MC4 Connector (20-30 ft) we chose 8 AWG because Handy Bob said to use the largest gauge wire possible, to reduce the voltage drop, and that's the highest value I've found on MC4 connectors. I simply cut off one end of the wire and separate it into metal pieces to plug into the solar charger. Pay attention to which side you need to leave untouched to connect your solar panel. RENOGY 30A MC4 Waterproof built-in fuse holder with a fuse connected directly to the positive end of the solar panels before the cable goes to the solar charger. Installation couldn't be easier! Went to Home Depot and got a 4AWG electrical wire going from the solar charger to the battery (and a positive fuse box on the battery), stripped one end and screwed into the solar charger. At the other end we need the ring terminals detailed below. InstallationGear 4 AWG Gauge Gold Ring Set Screw Battery Ring Terminals (4 packs) 4 gauge of course. The screw posts will lift a bit even after your wire is in place, so I also heavily taped the screw posts to keep them from loosening in transit. I check the connection regularly to make sure nothing is disconnected! That's all. We used some Home Depot metal L-brackets to build our portable kickstand for our panels.
