Review on Cardone 43 4526 Remanufactured Wiper Motor by Greg Simms

Wrong thread screw

At first the engine runs very well. After I installed the motor it worked great. The problem I had with this motor was an issue with the threads on the bolt. I tried putting an 8mm nut from the old motor on this motor but it wouldn't tighten. I figured maybe the old nut was stripped or that this engine could use an SAE nut, so I took the engine to an auto parts store to see if they had a nut that would fit. They couldn't find anything suitable and suggested I look at a hardware store. I went to a hardware store and tried every SAE and metric nut they had but none of them fit. The only conclusion I can draw is that there is a problem with the threads on the screw. I was dying to get my wipers working and didn't have time to wait for the return and replacement so I took them home and tried to tweak something to make it work. After a lot of work I was finally able to tighten the nut enough for it to work. If I had to buy another one in the future I would order it from my local auto parts store instead of Revain. This way, if problems arise, it will be easier to facilitate the return.
