This fan goes on top of our fireplace insert. We frequently use the fire as our primary heating system. We've only had this fan a short while so I can't say how well it works long term, but already I can tell that it is quieter than the one we were replacing. It also spins up at a lower temperature and does a decent job of moving the air. Warms the rest of the house long term, but the initial heating is not quick, like all of these types of fans it takes a bit to get the warm air spread out.
- The magnetic thermometer allows for easy temperature monitoring
- The fan may not be energy efficient
