Review on πŸ”Œ GM Genuine Parts 213-968: Black Heated Oxygen Sensor for Reliable Performance by Kenji Townsend

Exact OEM replacement - worked great!

Why order third party parts when you can get an exact original part for about the same price? I ordered this oxygen sensor for our 2004 Saturn Vue. This is an exact GM replacement so all that was required was to remove the faulty one and install this one. I cleared the error code after installation and it's been working great ever since. Actual mileage appears to have increased slightly, although it may be too early to say for sure. I read a parts replacement procedure on the Saturn blog that involved removing the 3 1/2" bolts holding the heat shield over the exhaust manifold, completely exposing the oxygen sensor for easy removal. The connector can be easily removed by lifting and pulling the tab on the end that goes to the wire harness. In my case the third screw (holding the shield from the distributor) proved to be a problem as it was badly corroded; However, removing the other two was enough to push the screen back far enough to get to the sensor from below and unscrew it. I recommend the Powerbuilt 648691 oxygen sensor puller; Well worth the extra $9 to snap off and reattach - they fit snugly to avoid any potential slipping.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
