I usually wear Altras or Keen shoes and felt immediately comfortable in these "Recovery" shoes. The textured outsole feels comfortable and the wide toe box allows the toes to splay. I used them as indoor shoes. In summer we usually keep our house in the 70's. They keep my feet warm without having to wear socks. They're designed to be worn barefoot, so go one size up if you want to wear them with socks. With the merino wool upper, be aware that the shoe will flake – at least initially. I also wear black Merino wool socks. So when I noticed black hairballs on the floor, I first blamed my socks before finally realizing it was the shoes. After a month the spilling seems to have stopped. A question that will only be answered with time is whether these shoes will start to stink. Merino wool is naturally odor resistant and my feet never stink anyway, but if so then maybe you should go up a size and wear socks. All in all, Rekovr shoes are easy to recommend. I've been wearing them almost every day since delivery and I don't see that changing. However, the wool upper makes them look like slippers and I don't know how to clean them when they get dirty so I don't wear them outside. I wish Topo had offered a washable canvas or leather version.
