They are lighter than I thought they would be. The material is hard to describe. Feels plastic but it's not plastic. Do yourself a huge favor and follow the directions to a T. Will save you a lot of trouble when trying to put these up.It recommends that you mark the shelf with the hole placement. I highly advise that you not skip this step. It will make putting it up so much easier.
