After the fire in my third floor apartment building spooked me, I realized I was ill prepared for a full blown building fire - God forbid it ever happened. So I took precautions to be prepared just in case. One thing I did was buy this emergency ladder. I keep it in a waterproof bag on my balcony where I can open the lid, attach the carabiners to the railing and lower the ladder. After all, I'm over 60 and not as athletic as I was when I was young! I also bought it with a seat belt in case I slip and start falling. I have the certainty that if everything really happens, I can escape.
