Measurements were pretty accurate. The diameter from one edge of the outside edge to the opposite side is literally 2 1/4 inches. The top of the basket is about 1 1/4 inches and the bottom of the basket is about 1 inch. Working in our sink but unfortunately we didn't measure the drain and it has a little more slop than we would like as the water pressure can move the strainer and dirt can get in. I'm not good at measuring this but just wanted to mention - be sure to measure the drain hole you intend to use this for. In my case, ideally the top of the basket would measure about 1 3/4 inches and the full diameter would be about 3 inches. My only thing is color related. The title/description doesn't say it, but it's definitely chrome and not stainless steel by the looks of it. We have a standard stainless steel sink, so even when it's in the sink's drain, that ultra-shiny strainer does stand out a bit! It should also be noted that the packaging states that this is made in China, for those interested.
