Works great with my Wii and Wii U as it works on both. In terms of clarity Composite < Component < HDMI. For the Wii U you should use HDMI if you can, but for the Wii it gives you the best picture you can get. I have a Gamecube compatible Wii connected via component to BNC to a Sony PVM and the picture is amazing. A Wii with a Gamecube compatible component is a better alternative to the actual Gamecube system with a component simply because the Gamecube component cable costs over $200 due to its rarity.
