When I first looked at the real product, I was concerned that it was the right filter. Factory installed and OEM filters for the 2018 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.4L 4-Cylinder have these two odd little clips that hold the filter firmly in place. This filter doesn't have them. The filter comes with a frame and a small amount of lubricant to ensure a snug and airtight fit. When I say solid, I mean it's solid and solid to the point where you actually have to insert the filter into the car filter housing box. I tried applying without lube first to see if it would fit and I couldn't get it all the way in. Once I applied the lube and pressed really hard it went in and fitted perfectly and I could see a tiny bit of lube coming out from the front. I have used K&N filters in my vehicles for over 20 years. This was the most interesting setup, but it was easy if you followed the instructions that came with it. Installation takes about 5 minutes if you've ever removed and replaced the factory one. I recommend K&N air filters. I feel they offer a slight extra boost in performance and economy. The big benefit is that if you put a little K&N sticker on the air filter housing, the stores won't tell you to buy a new filter with every oil change. Just a bonus in my book!
