I use this on my dog's claws. Just let your dog sniff and touch before turning it on. Be very patient. Turn it on and let them hear the Dremel tool. Then turn it off and let it smell or put it next to you. I sit comfortably next to them and try not to strain as I'm making a nail and when they rest on the 2nd nail then turn it off. Any time they want to take their paw off my arm or knees, I let them. I act like I have all the time in the world. They relax and let me hold their paw for the 2nd nail. These Dremel sanding belts are just great for giving my dogs their paws. There are no sharp edges to get caught on. I've also noticed that my little dog no longer digs holes in my yard when I clip his claws. I have no idea if these two are related - I'm just glad there aren't any holes in my garden.
