Review on 🔒 Emma Kites Lockable 8,7-Inch Inflatable: Unmatched Versatility and Security! by Flocka Parsons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent combination of features

This is a fairly standard product with minor variations between manufacturers. The Emmakytes version is almost at the high end of the price range. Here's why: round holes for lightness, no slots, all-metal lock, no plastic, braided line, no twine, 6 captive steel roller bearings, no bushing. Oh, and it comes in a sturdy, colorful drawstring pouch. The cord is regular polyester, not fancy aramid or polyethylene, but it's smooth, strong enough, and the red patches really make it stand out. Disadvantages: this large steel body of the lock. rests a little on the thumb hole, its edges are not smooth (but they are easily smoothed, plus I always wear gloves); Fasteners of the guide mechanism - flat-head screws are 3 mm longer (therefore both sides stick out; they were immediately replaced with semicircular heads of the required length); the guide, which looks like a belt pulley, is secured with a pin, i.e. actually just a groove with a radius. I'm no expert but I find that a plain ring guides almost as well and holds the line more securely. After all, the screw cap is made of wire and not ordinary sheet steel. It's a good design except its hook will snag on things, especially knitted Kevlar® gloves. (The pivoting clamps may have changed by the time you read this article, and they're easy to replace anyway, so don't see that as a major downside. The solid-wire construction is solid and easy to manipulate.) Some have complained about the instructions . Loosen the fastening screw. It seems they listened. I have a nylon nut that takes a lot of effort to remove. Overall, this reel is reliable and efficient, offering durability and performance benefits that others don't have. The locking mechanism, in particular, is a notch stronger than most, and the braided line is better than the laid line. I'm glad I kept looking until I found Emmakites. Update: These comments will be confusing to anyone checking during and after 2018 because Emma has decided to switch to a generic design while maintaining the premium price while removing the distinctive features (apart from her signature traits). Line). I haven't used the new model but from the description I'm really glad I bought my last year.
