Review on Zoeller M63 Premium Series 5-Year Warranty Mighty-Mate 1/3 HP Submersible Sump Pump by Wayne Seba

Very well made, very quiet

This is how this M63 was installed by a plumber at the Zoeller booth. The money difference between M53 and M63 is pretty small when you see what you get when you upgrade to M63. Our drain pump runs twice a day during dry periods and once an hour during wet periods. I was absolutely amazed by the quality of the pump. He replaced 10-year-old Little Giant. This Zoeller is very quiet and fast. I also asked the installer to replace the one-way valve on the discharge side, although initially he said it probably shouldn't be replaced. It turned out to need replacing and was slowly leaking water back into the sump tank which of course made the pump work more frequently. Also replaced the GFI circuit as it blew up a couple of times and although I thought it was a pump issue I think it was the socket itself. In my experience I would recommend replacing the check valve with every pump change. Also, this GFI circuit was something I could do myself, and after I made the circuit the old pump never broke again, but by then we had a new pump on the way and we had just finished installing it. Our drain pump bowl feels a bit, too, and placing the M63 on a Zoeller plastic stand raises the pump two inches. Now, after a few weeks, the pool water looks cleaner because the mood isn't pumped up every time the pump is on. I was impressed by the build quality of this pump. Not many good products. So far it's immaculate and it's really hard to tell when it's running because it's so quiet. I added a little water a few times at the beginning to see how it worked. The old pump and valve were so loud you could hear them running. In my setup, this pump has to lift the water 14 feet vertically before it can go horizontal. No problem and I'm wondering how fast it moves water compared to the old pump.
