Excellent build quality, online documentation, ESP32 is great

There are two important things about any of these IoT boards: quality build and documentation. On the first question, the board appears to be of relatively high quality. The soldering is consistent and of high quality: the ideal amount of solder at each joint. The plate is clean with no visible traces of chemical residues. The screen printing is clear, crisp, the text is legible. with headers). The board also had a sticker with a support email address in case there were any questions. The seller also emailed shortly after delivery to make sure I was happy with my purchase. I found it very good that the plugs were not pre-soldered. This allows for top mounting for direct jumper use, bottom mounting for breadboard use, or the flexibility to solder wires directly for a more permanent installation. The actual name on the board is Heltec Automation. A quick Google search brings up various resources on both the ESP32 website and the HelTecAutomation GitHub account with the Heltec_ESP32 repository for code samples and instructions. While similar boards may be available on auctions or other Chinese sites, Revain certainly has an amazing return policy and fast shipping. I ordered my share of goods from China and admittedly a month late is no fun. My ESP32 arrived with sample code already loaded to confirm the device was working. The display showed scans showing that the Wi-Fi functions were working properly. The serial UART driver is a Silicon Labs CP210x, I would probably prefer the CH340 as I've had trouble substituting Windows 10 drivers for Silicon Labs in the past. In my case, the board was recognized immediately, also because I may have already installed the Windows drivers. The important thing here is to download and install the drivers manually - *do not* use "generic" drivers for Windows 10 (mine is called CP210x_Windows_Drivers.zip). I have used a number of different ESP32 boards and am perfectly happy with them. Full Disclosure: The manufacturer offered a discount on the boards if I promised to write an honest and accurate review of the board. I am in no way affiliated with the seller or the company.
