These are the exact same connector wires that came OE on my 2001 Tahoe 5.3L High Tension Round Coil which can be used for shorter wire sets. . You can also purchase a slightly longer connector lead set that connects to the high voltage coils, which have the connector on the side instead of the bottom end, which was also used in this model year. If you like clean and tidy clothes, buy them when they fit you. Just visually inspect your coils first. These wires also have a strong coiled resistance wire inside, just like standard wires, to quell ignition noise. I replaced them because I ripped one pulling it out of the connector it was stuck to. I had to remember to twist everyone's fork first to "free" them. The old ones that were intact looked ok and the resistance was ok (400-600 ohms). I usually tried to save money but this time I took the advice and replaced them all. I think you can't see the plug wires going to ground unless you watch them with the engine running in total darkness, and even in them you might not catch a bad wire unless the humidity is high enough . Anyway, I swear the engine runs even smoother now. The replacement cost is worth it, especially if your unit has >140,000 miles like mine.
