Sous vide is worth it

I didn't want to try sous vide, but I had a few recipes that called for precise temperatures over a period of time. A stovetop, oven or grill cannot do this. I didn't want to spend a lot of money to try sous vide. This kit includes bags and a suction pump. I wish this sous vide cooker was thinner and took up less pot space. The octagonal shape seems to work well for even circulation of heated water. The temperature is accurately measured with my thermometer. I wish it was easier to clean. To clean you need to remove the cover and screw it on and then remove it. It's a nitpick, but if it didn't have a screwing function I'd clean it more often. It was difficult for me to figure out how to turn it on and set the temperature and time, but figured it out easily after reading the instructions. I was surprised at how quickly the water bath heats up. I filled the pot with hot water and it was already above my desired temperature so I started cooking the steaks right away. The steaks came out great. I considered myself an exceptional master of steak grilling, using stovetop grills, oven grills, stovetop grills with oven jaws, backyard barbecue grills, and backyard smoke grills. None of the previous methods compare to sous vide plus grill on the stove or sous vide plus grill in the oven.

Cons
  • A little torn
