The 1st generation Sport Trac has 4 brackets on each side of the cab. ABC D. A denotes each side of grille, D denotes rear of cab. C&D factory mounts are complete junk from the factory. They are located under the driver's foot and just behind the front seats. Made from some scrap, rotting foam. I ended up ordering new bolts and matching nuts for the grille before I started work because they would never come loose, too much rust just in front of the front wheels. I had to buy item 11114576 from Fastenal along with the associated nuts. One screw on each side. The rest of the screws could be reused, but it required intense heat to loosen the Loctite. The rear ones (position D) were not replaced as they were in a new mold and there is a trick that is not worth the hassle. Suggest you watch a YouTube video before you start. Once you're done, the ride will be incredibly better. No rattling, tight body etc. Installation is well worth the money and effort. Plan ahead while you have a full weekend or a second car. Took me about 8 hours with acetylene and pneumatic tools. The front seats have to be unbolted and slid forward to get under the carpet and access the screws, but the seats can remain in the car.
