We replaced a common brand when it broke (ok I dropped it on tile). This one is larger in size, I like that. It has little silicon or plastic feet that stop it from sliding on the counter. It has a lid you do not have to remove to fill it (I really like that). The filter that comes with it (a generic type filter you can buy most places) really allows the water to flow from the top to the bottom quickly. I don't know if that is good or bad from a filtering standpoint, but it sure beats waiting for 5 minutes or so before you can use it.To be fair, we use this mostly to fill our coffee machine. So it pretty much only gets used onced every day or two.
