Bought 2 packs of these. One for me and one for a tattoo artist friend of mine. He's used them before and he LOVES them. He used up his pretty quickly by actively painting. My daughter broke the tip of one of my markers while writing. This forced me to be extremely careful with my remaining markers. That was my problem. I didn't draw freely with them. The tip of the marker is a tiny cylinder. When the marker was brand new, ink only came out of the end of the barrel. If I held the marker naturally (at an angle), the ink didn't stay on the paper the whole time unless I pressed on it. I didn't want to press because I needed a thin line and I was afraid of breaking the mark. The tip is ultra thin but still wider than I expected. I decided markers wouldn't work for my purpose, so I started using them for rough sketches. It was at this point that I discovered that the markers can create any type of line - as thin as you can imagine! I think the marker must have been hacked. With a little abuse, the ink will now come out of where the flat tip of the nib and the side of the barrel meet. Because it's a precise edge, it allows precise control over the thickness of the line. It took me a long time to get used to these markers, but now I'm very happy with the results.
