Have looked at several products, some cheaper, some MUCH more. This one seemed like a good balance between cheap obscurity and ridiculous expense. The service at our house for our AT&T (Consumer Cellular) based service is on bands 2, 4 and 12 so I wasn't sure which amp to choose. This 5 band device covers all the bases and works great! At first I thought it wasn't working, then I noticed that as soon as a call is initiated (incoming or outgoing), the booster kicks in and the signal strength jumps. This is as stated in the user manual and works as intended. Be sure to choose a device with antenna types (internal and external) that suits you best. I went with an outdoor omnidirectional antenna because there seem to be several towers in our area, and I wanted the phone and booster to have the flexibility to use whatever signal it needed, as if there were no booster at all. We didn't need a long range for the internal antenna, but again we wanted omnidirectional. In our case, the whip antenna was ideal. Do a little research and determine what type of external device and antenna suits your needs.
