VTech 2431 I've only had a few days and am very impressed. The design of the phone is great. It looks and feels like a good mobile phone. It's relatively light, but doesn't make it cheap. Programmable buttons for display functions work very well. The display is large enough to read and lights up when a button is pressed. Caller ID gives you the ability to store up to 50 names and numbers. You can also add names and numbers with easy-to-use soft keys and a large display. One of the best features of the phone is the hands-free function. The speaker is loud enough to hear someone when the phone is attached to the waist with a belt clip. Headphones are not required. The intercom function works well, even when a man needs to transfer a call from the base to one of the handsets. There is a voicemail indicator on the base station even if you have service from your phone company. It has a memory button that allows you to program your voicemail access number for one-touch access. The phone also has a message waiting indicator at the top to let you know if you have a message waiting. The only problem I have is that on 2.5GHz, if I stand next to a running microwave, the signal cuts out. Also, plugging into an outlet away from a computer or microwave oven prevents feedback. This is the coolest phone I've ever owned. And what makes it so great is that everything works!
