Inexpensive Managed Switch with Intuitive User Interface

When I was looking for a managed switch, I wanted to choose one that offered the features I needed without having an overly complicated user interface. After figuring out how many ports I need, the next decision was to go with a product known for their quality products and simplified interfaces, which is why I settled on the Netgear GS108Tv2. Having used various Netgear products over the years, I've become comfortable with their easy learning curves, and their interfaces are more geared towards people who are both professionals and laypeople. Once I unboxed and plugged this switch in, I simply followed the instructions that came with it and I was able to easily set it up to not only act as a switch but also other technical features like link aggregation that I needed to add to one of my dual LAN Support NAS servers. Adapters and supported link aggregation make it easy to increase network bandwidth. The UI is based on the web UI, everything in the UI works fine except for the device view which is not shown as it needs Java support which has been removed. of all web browsers, and to the best of my knowledge, Netgear will not be making any changes to fix this. This isn't the end of the world, however, as this feature is in no way required to use or configure the switch. It's more of a GUI feature that looks nice but doesn't do much in terms of functionality. In terms of usability, this switch is very easy to set up and keep working, and it will take a little time to get to know its features and what they are for. those who have may be new to the network. For advanced users and those used to using Netgear products, the user interface will be very familiar and easy to navigate. With its 8 ports it has more than enough ports for my needs as I have split everything between what should be on a managed switch on the Netgear GS108Tv2 and for those who get little to no benefit from a managed switch, I keep these devices on a standard switch. Netgears support is always available when you need it and typically responds within 24 hours of contact. For me, ease of use, cost and technical support were the main reasons I bought this particular managed switch.
