i use this in my well which is about 400 feet from my house with about 30 feet head and 100 gallon storage tank at my house. First the description said it did NOT have a non-return valve (which it does, I think they've updated the description now) as I need that because I need the water to flow back in the winter to prevent freezing. To remove the check valve, I heated a saw blade and cut the check valve in half, then removed it with needle nose pliers. Since I drained the water again after each use, the screw that connects the drive shaft to the propellers inside has loosened (draining the water causes the shaft to rotate backwards). I had to disassemble the pump and apply Loctite to the bolt. All problems have been fixed! I love the pump and it is powered by my Generac IQ2000 alternator. Perfect fit for my application.
