My mom is quite hard of hearing. I was able to choose a tune (out of the many) that is loud and plays a long time. There are even holiday tunes. It is almost to the point of being annoying to me, but it gets her attention. Syncing the buttons to the units was simple by following the directions. I wish the flashing blue lights were brighter, but they still are helpful. You have to plug them into an outlet, so I plugged the living room unit into a power strip on the TV stand so it was clearly visible. One of the push-buttons fell off the siding on the porch (sticky-back adhesive came with it), so I have to make sure I secure it well.
