Arko Shaving Stick Soap is an amazing value for money product. I have decided to try this highly acclaimed product as part of my business, right of way etc in a DE (double edge/safety razor) razor and am confident that using a cartridge razor would benefit greatly even with this minimal investment. Because it's a stick, I can use it differently than a traditional soap or cream. It offers luxurious foam with very good cushioning. I use it like many razors; Wet your face and bar of soap and rub the bar of soap on your face (as much as possible). I usually use the oil before shaving, after rinsing my face with hot water, after a hot shower (if possible) before applying soap. Then I gently squeeze the excess water out of the shaving brush as soon as it gets wet and apply the lather to my face. After my typical 3 runs, I use the joystick function to take full advantage. I don't remember seeing the DE razor on YouTube or reading about this additional technique on a blog. I mean re-moisturizing the face and soap stick and reapplying with a brush without lathering. A thin layer of concentrated soap applied to skin to refresh fibers provides excellent cushioning and protection for a BBS shave. I find that being able to use it this way combined with the tallow ingredient provides a super smooth protective barrier that rivals some expensive tallow (Stirling) shaving soaps. Yes, craft soap is better (and has a lot of great scents), but you can't match the price and benefits of a bar-shaped shaving soap at a great price. As for the smell, I like it. It's like the free soapy motels we used to get when we were kids when we went on vacation, and I think that's cool. Reviewers from multiple sources appear to be divided on this issue. There aren't many mids; It's kind of love or hate when it comes to fragrances. I think everyone should try it at least once to experience the lather and properties that the soap stick mold can offer. It's also pretty cool to try an international (Turkish) shaving product. Using it in the manner described above does not take long, so you can quickly shave before going to work in the morning. On cartridge razors, this helps reduce hair pulling, which is common with multi-blade cartridge razors. . I would also suggest looking into DE razors if you suffer from shaving irritation and ingrown hairs. If you're scared, try the OneBlade Core for a DE-shave transition. Single blade with joint for a thorough yet gentle shave. I now use it when I'm in a rush or recovering from DE as I'm still developing my DE shaving technique. Arko definitely helps add insurance when my DE tech is off.
