The good news is that it lowers phosphate levels

The good news is that it lowers phosphate levels. My problem is that I had a fish loss while using it. Maybe it's a coincidence (this kind of thing happens in a reef aquarium) but I can't fully rate it as in the two weeks I've been taking it (only 4 times) I've seen the fish grow within a few days died. in two of them. My previously bulletproof school of 10 Chromics dropped to 6, I lost a Blackcap Basslett, Blueside Wrasse and Melanavr Wrasse that had been laying there for a couple of years healthy as a horse. Melanavr ingested an open sore shortly after taking the dose that looked almost like a bacterial infection and never healed; I don't know what happened to the others as they just disappeared overnight. Difficult to associate melanuric symptoms with this product but thought I should mention it as the timing is suspect. It really works, at least in combination with my GFO reactor. This didn't get it to the full 0.5ppm the dose suggested; greater in the range of 0.35 as measured by the colorimeter (+/- 0.04). But if you have smaller, more delicate fish that you're particularly attached to, I might settle for a GFO reactor and frequent water changes for a while to try and get over it. If you're in a pinch and absolutely need to get phosphates right away, give it a try, especially if you have larger, more resilient fish.
