Review on Loctite Heavy Duty Threadlocker, Blue 242, 0.2 oz – Single Pack by Jonathan Unruh

I found this product useless for my application. Many years ago I used Loctite to tighten screws when my sons and I raced RC cars. I could apply it to nuts and bolts and protect them from the harsh environment of RC car racing. It worked like glue but was easy to remove if I needed to do maintenance after an accident. This product appears to be no longer manufactured. This product, which claims to do the same thing, requires it to be lubricated onto a screw thread and then screwed into a threaded object. It works due to the absence of air on the threads. It will not air cure and will leave a mess if too much Loctite is used. For my application, the nut would not have enough surface area to provide a good grip. So I just threw the product away. Maybe it works for some applications, but it didn't work for me. I'd like to find this old Loktite; It worked great no matter what size bolt and nut was used.
