First tip - the instructions say to lubricate the large screws before removing them. In fact, they have permanent locktite. If you heat the nut in the door (I used a butane barbecue lighter) for about a minute and unscrew them while it's still hot, they'll come right out. BUT. I installed slicklock stays on the back of my 2006 E250. The lock installed was 7/16 from the face of the door and is quite articulated leaving enough room for a crowbar or saw. I contacted the manufacturer (who was very responsive) and was told this is how it will be fitted to the E-Series vans. Surprisingly, the entire puck is aluminum (no, not just the spinner). I haven't tested it, but I have little confidence that it will withstand a pry bar that easily fits behind. Conclusion - perhaps a visual deterrent for the occasional thief, but more of an invitation for the professional. I sent the kit back.
