I used this to drain my pool and it worked great. You will need a hose clamp to hold the type of hose you are using. I used 1 1/2" and I think that's the max size allowed. It moves water easily. It took about 8 hours to drain 18,000 gallons. It didn't work as fast as I was hoping, but fast enough , especially considering the price. It doesn't have a float so you have to be careful not to dry it out. The local shop charged what it cost for the pump. I have it now whenever I need it "I would recommend this pump to anyone who has a small to medium job. If my pool was bigger I would probably want a bigger pump. Or use two of these for an affordable price.
