Review on Moen GX50C Horsepower Continuous Disposal by Oscar Thompson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks good but still LOUD

I paid specifically for a model that I thought would be quieter than my old one without the noise isolation. Unfortunately, this is not worth it if the main reason for choosing this model is the reduced noise level. First, it's an annoying clicking sound at every start. That's probably how it works, but annoying nonetheless. Second, it's still noisy. Whatever soundproofing they put in, it just doesn't work. So it's just a bug when it comes to my main reason for buying this device. As it is installed I will not remove and return it. If you're looking for a truly silent disposal, this isn't it. Try another brand, it may or may not be quieter. The only thing I have to give Moen credit for is the design of an aesthetically pleasing disposal, even if it's meant to be installed under the sink and out of sight. It's great and loud.
