No warranty - guaranteed

Nice design and good volume. Ordered from Revain. Stop working after 4 months. Contacted Moen support. "Try to put pressure on the blades with a wooden spoon" is the result of their technical support. Since it was obviously frozen, "as a courtesy, we will send you a replacement." Really! Two weeks later no shipping notification. I contacted Moen again. Due to the pandemic, I was told it would be a few more weeks before it would leave the Nevada warehouse. I spoke to the manager and asked why if

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Moen products are generally of excellent design and very high quality. It doesn't live up to that standard. In construction, this recycling is a high value unit. The design is terrible. The collar that fits in the sink is too small for a grown man to put his hand in. This means that there is no practical way to get an object out once it is possessed. If the object can be attracted to a magnet, you can use a magnet on a stick to remove a steel bottle cap, for example. If the recycled item is…

Looks good but still LOUD

I paid specifically for a model that I thought would be quieter than my old one without the noise isolation. Unfortunately, this is not worth it if the main reason for choosing this model is the reduced noise level. First, it's an annoying clicking sound at every start. That's probably how it works, but annoying nonetheless. Second, it's still noisy. Whatever soundproofing they put in, it just doesn't work. So it's just a bug when it comes to my main reason for buying this device. As it is…

High quality and good price!

I bought this remnant to replace a Badger InSinkErator that was corroded and leaking. Installation was very easy (I followed the instructions in the tutorial video) and was up and running in about 30 minutes. I almost didn't want to use it because it was so beautifully made. It can be a bit noisy at first, but after using it a few times it seemed to quiet down. Some other reviewers mentioned a clicking noise when turned on; these are the wheels that are on top of the player, which is perfectly…

Strain relief clamp not included for hardwiring

The plumber who was going to install this just noticed that not all parts are included if you want to hardwire this. (The hardwiring capability of this unit is an advertised feature.) You will need to purchase a strain relief clamp. The installation guide didn't list the size and when I called customer service they didn't know the size either. Googling the size question yielded a tweet of someone complaining about this in 2018 and apparently not paying attention 3 years later. said 1". THIS IS…

A Moen fan for good reason.

It seems that every time I move into a new home one of the first repairs I have to make is replacing the garbage chute. This fun little chore is made even more difficult by the fact that repairs must be made within the confines of the under sink cabinet. InSinkErator has always been a brand in need of renewal and has always been replaced. I thought that the old pipes and hoses would simply be attached to the new disposal. And that's how it's always been. And I got used to the fact that the…

Great device, good price, very loud!

I replaced a 13 year old Badger 5 with this Moen unit. The packaging looked like it had been sold to someone before, returned and then resold to me. The box was badly dented, the power cord was not wrapped, just dangling inside the box, and the inner walls were torn and damaged, as if someone had previously pulled the unit out of the box. The device itself looked good, so I went ahead and installed it. I installed it in about 30 minutes. It was very light, allowing me to work comfortably lying…

Great alternative to litter chutes

Bought a new insinkerator (Badger 5 1/2 HP) 4 years ago. I really expected it to last my whole life. I have never seen anyone in my family replace their insinkerator as it grew. The unit I replaced (Insinkerator) had a failed seal that caused us to flood every time we used the kitchen sink. The replacement I installed 4 years ago was the only big deal brand, but I felt confident going from 1/3 to 1/2 hp. Surprise! This is no longer an important factor in their durability. The secret is that…

Measure before you buy.

I have looked at several waste assessment bodies. The best rated are the various top brands that are comparable. This was on average about 4.5. One site helped me choose the right brand and model by answering a few questions. No matter what I answered, InSinkErator was always recommended. (Do you think they were paid for this?) I had an nSinkErator Badger 500 that started leaking after 4 years. The one I had before, Badger 5, got strong after 9 years. The difference was that older InSinkErators
