I used this on the transmission pan after cleaning it of old gasket sealant with an aerosol can of gasket remover. I applied sealant to the pan and around the bolt holes. The only problem I had was that it was almost impossible to get it out of the tube. I don't know if the tube was old or damaged. I bought it in October 2018 and used it on March 4th, 2019. I have about half a tube left, but I don't think it's going to be used for any useful purpose. It's grey/black. I'll see if it holds up and keeps the seal. It's only been since Sunday that I finished this, so it's day four and I don't see a leak. I also used a rubber washer and tightened the bolts to 9 feet. That's enough for the Kia automatic transmission. I applied sealant to the oil pan in a thin, firm bead and around the oil pan bolt holes, then installed a rubber gasket over the oil pan. I hand tightened the bolts in a criss-cross fashion, then had the oil pan torqued to 9 ft-lbs for an hour, then let it sit for 24 hours before filling it with gear oil.
