Great product: my feedback

Had a tear down project on my jeep. Lots of nuts and bolts to remove and install. This worked flawlessly with 3/8 and adapted to 1/2 sockets also. Broke the old rusted ones right off which was fine as i needed to replace anyway. Used as a hand ratched was a great bonus.

Pros
  • Well built heavy duty as advertised.
Cons
  • Limited warranty period

nice and powerful, however a little on the large side

This is my second aircat tool.First one was one of their impact wrenches, i was very impressed with the value and the power of the tool. When my trusty kolbalt air ratchet kicked the bucket, i decided it was time to upgrade.I was not dissapointed!Lots of power, it does help to keep two hands on the tool!I found i need to be very careful when tightening, it's very easy to over power things.I do wish it had an easy way to adjust the torque like my old kolbalt could.Another thing i did not like…

Pros
  • a lot of power be ready to hang on
Cons
  • You need an air compressor, which is additional and expensive equipment

Hands down beats my snap on and matco

This thing is an absolute beats. I've been wrenching for a living over 17 years now. I've ran and owned them all. From craftsman, to snap on, to mac, to Matco. Aircat has always been a great bang for your buck. When my strong matco came up missing, I needed a replacement and wasnt willing to pay the tool truck pricing. This thing is a beast! Its by no means a compact ratchet and I didnt get it for that reason. I needed power. If you're not ready and bracing yourself, IT WILL HURT YOU. Some…

Pros
  • This air ratchet is powerful
Cons
  • The reverse switch is not conveniently located

I liked how quiet the old one was

I work on cars for a living and my trusty old aircat recently broke after 7 years of almost daily use. I liked how quiet the old one was. This new one is loud! And slower. BUT! Its got a ton of torque. The button/trigger works very well and it is easy to finesse . The size and shape of the ratchet look very similar to a much more expensive competitors 3/8 ratchet. this is a knuckle buster and definitely has a place in my tool box. If it was quieter and had faster run down it would be 5 star.

Pros
  • Really nice tool! I tried another brand and it wouldn't do the job. this one got the job done!
Cons
  • Requires a steady hand and immense strength to use

Torque for Days on my review.

I worried about some reviews mentioning low torque. This thing snapped off a seized bolt without so much as a hiccup. I am more concerned about too much torque when tightening than too little when loosening.

Pros
  • ‎Fixed Square
Cons
  • The air compressor unit can attract dirt and debris, causing performance issues

AIR, AIR, AIR! for my opinion

Before purchasing, Be sure you have something able to power this beast. My 29 gallon at 7.5 CFM almost hemmorges with this tool on long bolts. This is a powerful tool (don't quite agree on ft/lbs it has) but is extremely well made and willing to take on any task.

Pros
  • ‎Taper
Cons
  • Low torque compared to other ratchet wrenches in the market

Killer tool for the right job

The minute you encounter a space where you can just barely fit this tool, it will save your sanity. Why? Because you will find you can barely (if at all) turn a wrench in such spaces. For me, it was during a transmission swap. Turn 14 bolts 1 click at a time? Or blast them off with this tool? A torque limiting feature would be nice for reinstalling bolts. I literally can't fit a torque wrench in the same space (clearly the whole assembly was dropped into the chassis together).

Pros
  • ‎Metric
Cons
  • Can be difficult to use in confined and hard-to-reach spaces

INCREDIBLE TORQUE. WATCH OUT.

I wanted something to do the job but if I had to do it all over again I MIGHT order the smaller torque unit. I can turn the air pressure down I guess, (I run 90-120 psi) but this thing really grabs you, so be ready. The gun seems very well built and I think will last me the rest of my life.if my wrists and knuckles aren't bloodied first.ha.ha. Very good unit.

Pros
  • good
Cons
  • The air hose can be a tripping hazard in busy workspaces

For when you want to bust your knuckles.

I honestly bought this one mistakenly but I needed an air ratchet so I used it. Things got some serious power to it and it has saved my ass a couple times. If you are looking for something with power this is it.

Pros
  • very loud ! good torque!
Cons
  • The unit can produce dangerous vibrations and lead to hand fatigue
